Frank A. Magrowski

Frank A. Magrowski, 95, of Douglassville, passed away in his home on Thursday, June 19, 2025, with his loving family beside him. He shared over 71 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sophie (Grudza) Magrowski.

He was born in Reading to the late Bartlomiej and Agnes (Gniotczynski) Magrowski. Frank attended Reading School District. He served his country honorably in the Army of the United States during the Korean War and was discharged as a Corporal.

For 25 years, Frank worked at Firestone as a material handler. When Firestone closed, Frank was recruited to Oxy Chemical where he served as a valued member of the environmental services team and retired at age 70.

An active member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Frank sang with the choir and volunteered to make pierogies for fundraisers.

Frank was a very good dancer, and he and Sophie loved going to polka clubs together. He had been a member of the Polish Falcons since 1946 and was active on the softball and dart teams as well as the bowling league.

He was an avid fan of Eagles, Phillies, and Penn State. He was an even bigger fan of Wawa hoagies.

He was proud of the home he and Sophie kept. He enjoyed gardening and mowing the lawn with his John Deere. He was most proud of his family, whom he treasured dearly. He loved to watch his grandchildren blossom and experience success. He attended all his grandchildren's orchestra concerts and sporting events at Exeter High School and Alvernia College and was always decked out in the appropriate school colors.

Left to cherish Frank's memory is his wife, Sophie; their children, Stephen F. Magrowski and wife Lori of Bernville and Sharon E. Magrowski-Iswalt and husband John M. Iswalt Jr. of Reading; grandchildren, Alexis Iswalt, Amanda Iswalt, Carrie Steigerwald and husband Thomas, Rebecca Deisher and husband Jarrett, Rachel Albarran and husband Julian, and Stephen A. Magrowski and wife Carol Queiruz; and three great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by a son, Anthony F. Magrowski, and by siblings, Anna, Aloysius, Chester, Mary, Lottie, Florence, and Christine.
