Frank B. Carabello, 63, died of natural causes March 5 at 4:40 p.m. in his residence on Penndale Avenue, Pennside.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Dr. Natal and Eleanor (Milius) Carabello.
Carabello was employed from 1970 to 1981 as a clinical trials investigator by Hill Top Research, Cincinnati, and was the owner of Keyline Research, Florence, Ky., from 1981 until his retirement in 1995.
He was a 1958 graduate of Central Catholic High School, where he was a star athlete, playing on the varsity football team and competing in track and field events.
Carabello received a football scholarship to the University of Maryland, College Park, where he played freshman football. He was a 1962 graduate of the University of Maryland and received a doctorate in chemistry from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J., in 1968.
Carabello, who resided with Michelle (Edwards) Stricker, is survived two daughters, Monene (Carabello) Kamm, Cincinnati, and Cristy (Carabello) Ketron, Mason, Ohio.
Other survivors include a brother, Noel C., Exeter Township; and five grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading.
