Francis G. Schwegmann, 70, of Chestnut Street, Douglassville, died of natural causes March 18 at 4:07 a.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center, where he had been a patient one day.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Frank and Thelma (Houck) Schwegmann.
Schwegmann was employed as a commercial pilot by Allegheny Airlines and was last employed as an installer by Bell Telephone Co., retiring in 1993.
He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School.
Schwegmann was a Navy and Air Force veteran and served in the Korean War.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Birdsboro.
Surviving are two sons, John G., Exeter Township, and Jeffrey G., Mohnton.
Other survivors include three sisters: Theresa (Schwegmann) Rosenthal, Tucson, Ariz.; Maria (Schwegmann) Schlosser, Allentown; and Thelma (Schwegmann) Elder, Flying Hills.
There is also a granddaughter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
