Francis W. Rothenberger

Francis Wilson Rothenberger, 88 formerly of Temple died on December 3, 2007 at 8:19 p.m. in ManorCare, Laureldale where he had been a patient since August 9, 2007.

He was married to the late Elizabeth Louise (Phillips) Rothenberger who died September 19, 1990.

Born on July 26, 1919 in Muhlenberg Twp., he was a son of the late James and Carrie (Hinnershitz) Rothenberger.

Francis was a 1937 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

He was employed as a roller with Carpenter Technology, Reading for 41 years, retiring in 1981.

Francis was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Surviving is a daughter, Nancy L. (Rothenberger), wife of Donald P. Ketterer of Rehrersburg and a son, David B., wife of Roseann G. (Spannuth) Rothenberger of Ruscombmanor Township.

Other survivors include five grandchildren, Nadine M. (Ketterer) wife of Terry Hohl of Exeter Township, Kelly L. (Ketterer) wife of Jeffrey Byler of Bethel Township, Bradley D. husband of Amy J. (McElwee) Miller of Muhlenberg Township, Brent P. Miller of Blandon and Brian C. husband of of Caitlin T. (Kravatz) Miller of Reading.

There are also ten great grandchildren, Andrea R. Wentzel, Amanda E. wife of Dominic Cipolla, Michelle L. Meck, Joshua R. Wentzel, Michael C. Meck, Jenna Byler, Jared Byler, Benjamin D. Miller, Irie Rose Miller and Michael Bagenstose and one great great grandson, Donovan R. Wentzel.

He was predeceased by three siblings, Miriam Zellers, Earl W. Rothenberger and James Rothenberger.

Services will be Thursday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Spies-Zion Church Cemetery, Alsace Township. For online condolences, please visit www.christfuneralhome.com.
