Francis Rice

Francis "Butch" Rice, 73, passed away, Thursday, July 1st, 2021, in his Perry Township residence.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Deborah J. (Laskoskie) Rice.

Born in Uniontown, PA, he was the son of the late James and Blenda V. (Parnell) Rice.

Butch was first employed as a longshoreman until embarking on a career driving truck for several different companies.

He was a member of the Hamburg VFW, Hamburg, Kutztown, and Strausstown Rod and Gun Clubs, Alsace Manor, and the Hamburg Moose Club.

Butch loved shooting pool. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and antiques.

In addition to his wife Deborah, Butch is survived by one daughter, Kelly D. Rice, Sarasota, FL.

Butch was predeceased by a son, Edward Rice, and four siblings; Lee Rice, Agnus Yutzy, June Vecchione, and Darlene Mangine.

A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, July 8th, 2021, at 11 A.M., at Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, 40 South 4th Street, Hamburg. Burial will follow in Zion's Cemetery, Windsor Castle. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service in the funeral home from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M..
