Francis E. Mohan

Francis E. Mohan, Jr., 76, of West Lawn, died February 28, 2008.

He was the husband of the late Bernice P. (Pennypacker) Mohan, who died May 11, 1996.

Born September 21, 1931 in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Francis E., Sr. and Jane G. (McGovern) Mohan.

Francis was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School and also attended Norwich University, VT.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Francis was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola R.C.C., Whitfield.

He was employed as a HV/AC mechanic for 36 years by Western Electric, AT & T, Lucent Technologies and Agere, retiring in 1992.

Francis was a member of Bell Telephone Pioneers.

He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia B., wife of Steven B. Gass, Spring Twp., and Maryanne Mohan, Spring Township. One grandson, Peter S. Gass and his companion Betty Jean Thornburg also survive him.

Francis was predeceased by one son, John B. Mohan, and one brother, James F. Mohan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church.
