Francis J. Hogan

Francis Joseph "Frank" Hogan, Jr., 72, passed away August 9, 2010 in his Cumru Township residence after a brief illness.

He was the husband of Kathryn T. (Griffin) Hogan, whom he married September 7, 1968.

Born December 7, 1937 in Bryn Mawr, Pa, he was a son of the late Francis J., Sr., and Mary Margaret (Lyden) Hogan.

He attended St. Thomas of Villanova grade school and graduated from Lower Merion High School in 1955.

Frank was a member of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Plowville, where he was active in the church choir and the Knights of Columbus.

He was employed 45 years with G. Diehl Mateer Co., of Devon before retiring as a custom machine designer in 2000.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children: Kathleen M. (Hogan) Rapp of Kenhorst; Frank J. husband of Dianne M. (Rissel) Hogan of Bowmansville, Lancaster Co.; Maureen A. Hogan of Reading and Michael P. Hogan at home.

Other survivors include three siblings: James M., husband of Elizabeth (O'Brien) Hogan of Paoli, Chester Co.; Mary Margaret (Hogan), wife of James P. Gallagher of Downingtown, Chester Co., and Robert M., husband of Mary (Knight) Hogan of Coatesville, Chester Co.

There are also four grandchildren surviving: Tyler M. Hogan; Erin M. Hogan; Ryan P. Hogan and Coby W. Rapp.

He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 14th at 11:30 am in St. Benedict's R.C. Church, 2020 Chestnut Hill Rd, Mohnton, PA 19540. A viewing will be held two hours prior to Mass in the Church.
