Francis Howard "Pete" Goeltz, 85, formerly of 118 N. 4th Street, Reading, died July 27, 2010 in his Reading residence.
He was the husband of Nancy Mae (Rudy) Heft Goeltz whom he married July 8, 1978.
Born April 6, 1925 in Reading, he was a son of the late Andrew and Martha M. (Leicey) Keiser.
Francis was employed with Chancellor Hosiery and later as a machinist with Wilson Products for 21 years, retiring in 1987.
He was a volunteer firefighter for Hampden Fire Company, Reading as well as a life member of Hampden Fire Company Beneficial Association, Berks County Fireman's Association and Ivy Leaf Association, Reading.
Francis was an animal lover.
Surviving are four children: Bertha E. "Cookie", widow of James Kompa of Reading; Bradley P. Keiser of Jacksonville, FL; Raymond B., husband of Elaine (Mora) Keiser of Laureldale and Debbie A. (Keiser) Miller, fiancée of Dennis Scianna of Bernville.
There are also nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Other survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Francis was predeceased by 7 siblings: Paul R. Keiser, Irene Weidenhammer, Raymond B. Keiser, Leroy Keiser, Esther Boyer, Virginia Fleischood and Ella Weidenhammer.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held an hour prior to services in the funeral home. Inurnment will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Forest Hills Memorial Park, 391 W. Neversink Road, Exeter Township.
