Francis P. Flannery

Francis Paul Flannery, 83, formerly of Shillington, passed away March 31, 2009 in Mifflin Center.

His wife Patricia (Daly) Flannery died in August 10, 1995.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Daniel P. and Leona M. (Nally) Flannery.

He attended North Coventry High School, Pottstown.

Francis was employed by Lucent Technology.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Francis was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving in the Battle of the Bulge.

He is survived by two sons, Timothy Flannery, New York City, David Flannery, Allentown; four daughters, Kathleen Flannery, San Luis Obispo, CA, Christine Flannery, Mechanicsburg, Mary Jean Flannery, Reading and Brenna Tara, Schuylkill County and two brothers, Daniel J. Flannery, Wyomissing and Dr. Richard P. Flannery, Reading.

He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Francis was predeceased by his son, Michael Flannery and two brothers, Robert F. Flannery and James P. Flannery.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. in St Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 9th & Walnut Street, Reading, PA. Burial will be in St. Paul's Mission Cemetery, Douglassville.
