Francis Cyril Coady, 93, of Reading, died May 21, 2011, in St. Joseph Hospital.
His wife, Jennie (Ciliberti) Coady, died August 9, 1990.
Born in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Alexander and Emma (Neidlinger) Coady.
He was a member of the U.S. Army during WWII serving in Birches Garden, Eastern Europe, Sicily, Africa, Italy, France, Germany and Austria. On the front line when invading Adolf Hitler's domain, he actually drank some of Hitler's champagne.
Francis was employed by Glen Gery Brick Company as a hand molder for 37 years, retiring in 1985.
He is survived by his companion of 19 years, Dolores A. Trumbore, with whom he resided, and her son, Randy Scott Trumbore, Reading. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:30 to 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
