Sister Josepha Piorkowski, OSF

Sister Josepha Piorkowski, 94, of the Bernardine Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, died of natural causes on Saturday morning, May 16, 2026, at St. Joseph Villa, Reading, PA, where she had resided since 2013.

Born in Forest City, PA, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine (Frackiewicz) Piorkowski.

Sister Josepha entered the Bernardine Sisters on August 11, 1951, and was in her 75th year of religious life. Sister earned a BS degree in Education from Villanova University.

She served her ministry in Pennsylvania as an elementary teacher, principal, and local minister.

Sister is survived by the members of her Bernardine Franciscan Congregation. There are no surviving immediate family members.

Viewing on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at St Joseph Villa, Reading, PA. Mass on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Villa Chapel, Reading, PA followed by burial in the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters' Cemetery, Mount Alvernia, Reading, PA.
