Frances C. Jones

Frances C. Jones, 97, wife of the late Philip E. Jones, both formerly of Wyomissing, PA, died March 13, 2010 in Regina Nursing Center, Norristown, PA.

Born July 2, 1912 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late James P. and Margaret E. (Coyne) Cantwell.

Frances was employed as a secretary/bookkeeper with Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading, PA for 5 years, retiring in 1985.

For over 59 years, Frances was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, where she was a choir member for over 25 years. In 1945 she started Fatima Rosary Novena for World Peace. At Sacred Heart, she was a charter member of Chorale Club, Bridge Club, and Seniors Club.

She was an active member of Catholic Woman's Club of Reading and Berks County, serving as Vice President in 1943 and also of the Sacred Heart Society.

Surviving are three children: Margaret (Jones) Barrett of Ft. Washington, PA, Rev. William P. Jones of Bethlehem, PA, and Maryellen (Jones), wife of Richard W. Mills of Bucktown, PA; one grandchild, Sarah (Barrett), wife of Jakov Pinto of Elkins Park, PA; and two great-grandchildren, Shachar and Yishai Pinto.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, West Reading, PA. A visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass in the church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
