Frances R. Ford

Frances R. (Eichner) Ford, 83, formerly of Mt. Penn, passed away February 7, 2018, at Berks Heim.

Her husband, James A. Ford, Jr., died on November 19, 2011.

Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late John and Caroline (Schanta) Eichner.

She was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School and Reading Area Community College.

Frances was employed at BCIU as a special education teacher aide for many years. She later worked for the County of Berks in the prothonotary office until her retirement.

She was a member of St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Penn.

Frances was an avid reader. She also enjoyed knitting, cross stich, crossword puzzles, word games and was a trivia buff.

Frances was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed dearly.

She is survived by six children: James A., III, husband of Linda Ford; of Muhlenberg Township; Mary F., wife of Paul P. Clark of Whitfield; Patricia A., wife of Donald R. Unger of Reading; John M., husband of Marjorie Ford of Sevierville, TN; Sara E., wife of James P. Stewart of Mohrsville and Kathleen M. Keck of Lancaster; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Frances had three siblings: Helen Senyszyn (deceased), Edward Eichner, Rocky Hill, CT, and Frieda, wife of Joseph Soska, Bethlehem.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 12, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Chapel, 2427 Perkiomen Ave. Reading, PA 19606 with entombment to follow at Gethsemane Mausoleum. A viewing will be Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the chapel. Contributions may be made to St. Catharine's RCC at the above address. Edward J.
