Frances Bernardo

Frances Bernardo, 88, formerly of Reading, died July 20, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in the Lutheran Home at Topton, where she had been a resident since 2001.

She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Dominic H. Bernardo who died January 8, 2002.

Born February 11, 1920 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Perrilli) Lombardo.

Frances was employed by Linette Candies as a packer for 15 years, retiring in 1982.

She was a member of Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Reading.

Surviving are three children, Lydia (Bernardo) Filippini of Tempe, AZ, JoAnn (Bernardo) Brossman of Lower Heidelberg Twp. and James F. Bernardo of Sinking Spring. There are also seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren

She is also survived by two brothers, Dominic Lombardo and Ronald Lombardo and two sisters, Mary (Lombardo) Staron and Dolores (Lombardo) Seitzinger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary R.C. Church, 237 Franklin Street, Reading, PA 19602. A viewing will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
