Forrest W. Rothermel

Forrest Wilbur "Babe" Rothermel, 81, of Bern Township, died March 15, 2012 in Berks Heim.

He was the husband of Marjorie Ann (Hibschman) Rothermel, whom he married May 9, 1953.

Born in Blandon, PA on February 25, 1931, he was a son of the late Arthur H. and Annie (Angstadt) Rothermel.

He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Leesport.

Forrest was employed 38 years as a paint maker with Glidden Paint, Reading, retiring in 1993.

He is also survived by a daughter, Kathleen L. (Rothermel), wife of Thomas R. Gilmore of West Reading.

Other survivors include two siblings: Earl R., husband of Ethel (Kleinsmith) Rothermel of Blandon and Anna M. (Rothermel), widow of Kenneth Shappell of Blandon.

There is also one grandson, Zachary R., husband of Eileen E. (Koller) Gilmore and a great granddaughter, Lilah Grace Gilmore, all of Leesport.

He was predeceased by five siblings: Harry, Ralph, Arthur, Stewart and Harold.

Services will be held Saturday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with Rev. Deborah Schwartz officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will bein Leesport Cemetery.
