Forest Wayne Crigler

Forest Wayne Crigler, Jr. passed away unexpectedly at the age of 62 on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kelly (Kirkpatrick) Crigler.

Forest was born in Columbia, MO to the late F. Wayne Crigler and Elaine (Petrasek) Crigler.

He was a 1977 graduate of Muhlenberg High School where he earned nine varsity letters in four different sports, placing 10th in the national decathlon for two years while earning All-American honors. Forest graduated from Princeton University in 1981 where he earned a degree in Economics and was a member of the varsity track & field team. While at Princeton, he finished 3rd in the decathlon at the prestigious Penn Relays; his score ranked him as one of the top 50 decathletes in the world and he left Princeton as one of the top 10 all time decathletes.

After college, Forest worked for Bank of Pennsylvania for 25 years. He later joined Fulton Bank in 2001 and was the SVP/Business Loan Center Underwriter Function Manager. He served on various boards throughout Berks County and was involved in several committees as a longtime member of Advent Lutheran Church. He cherished being able to attend all his children's swim meets and enjoyed serving as a Berks County swimming official at summer league, high school, and YMCA meets.

In addition to Kelly, he is survived by his children, Alexandra (Austin, TX) and Danny, husband of Steph (Amherst, NH). One of four siblings, he is also survived by his sisters: Elaine "Boo" Dempsey, Cathy Sheaffer, and Jennifer Sternberg.

A church service will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Advent Lutheran Church,16 Telford Avenue, West Lawn. Advent asks all in attendance to please wear masks. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Forest Crigler Jr. Memorial Fund in Support of Youth Swimming, c/o Fulton Bank, 2100 Van Reed Road, West Lawn, PA 19609. Edward J.
