Florence D. Sands

Florence D. Sands, 72, of Reading, died February 3 at 11:20 a.m. in Reading Hospital where she had been since February 1.

She was the wife of William J. Sands, Jr.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna (Giangrecco) Santoro.

Sands was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

She is also survived by one son, William J., III, Wyomissing and 2 daughters, Debra S. (Sands) Lorah, Reading and Ann S. (Sands) Updegrove, Stockbridge, GA. There are also 2 brothers, John Santoro, Lewes, DE and Robert Santoro, Leesport and one sister, Lucy (Santoro) Setley, Shillington. There is also one granddaughter, Abigail Lorah.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum. Friends may call Monday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society 498 Bellevue Avenue Reading, PA 19605. Edward J.
