Florence E Pleitner

Florence E. "Floss" Pleitner, 80, passed away on December 9, 2023, in her Robeson Twp. residence.

She was the loving wife of James E. Pleitner. They were married on June 18, 1977 and enjoyed over 46 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Albert J. and Florence E. (Stratton) Fox.

She was a graduate of South Philadelphia High School in 1960.

Floss was a bookkeeper for Driban Body Works, Welded Tube, and Kozloff Stoudt.

She was a longtime member of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society for over 25 years.

Floss had a wide array of interests. She was a wonderful homemaker, danced on American Bandstand twice, played Mrs. Claus for Wyomissing Hills along with her husband playing the role of Santa. Floss was also one of the original counselors for Mercy CPC in Reading. The kids remembered all her involvement at Old Swede's Church in Philadelphia. She was a Sunday school teacher for several years as they were growing up, and was also involved in the annual St. Lucy Pageant.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Thomas F. (Debbie) Spitz, Maidencreek Twp. and Nancy Ann Hewitt, at home; step-children, Edward G. (Heidi Plaiss, Chicago and Patrick A. (Tracy) Plaiss, Polsen, MT; sister, Elizabeth L. Olson, Haddon Twp., NJ; two grandchildren, Tyler J. Hewitt and Sara A. Hewitt and step-grandchildren: Eric (Stephanie) Yoder, Kristen Plaiss, Sarah Plaiss, Elise Plaiss and Caitlyn Plaiss and two step great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Haley Yoder.

She was predeceased by one brother, Edward F. Devlin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Benedict's RCC, with burial to follow at Robeson Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 2020 Chestnut Hill Road, Mohnton, PA 19540. Edward J.
