Florence Marie Henning

Florence Marie Henning, 89, formerly of Shillington, died May 9, 2014 in Berks Heim, where she resided for the past 4 years.

She was the wife of Raymond J. Henning who died January 30, 2009.

Born September 17, 1924 in Shamokin, she was a daughter of the late John and Katherine (Novak) Apolla. She was the youngest and last surviving of 11 children.

Florence was a 1942 graduate of Shamokin High School.

She was a member of St. John Bapstist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

Florence was an avid bingo player.

Surviving are her two children: Robert G. Henning, fiancé of Sharon E. Goodhart of Spring Township and Janice E. White, fiancée of Philip Coldren of Venice, FL.

Other survivors include her six grandchildren: Lauren, Thomas, Andrew, Jennifer, Robert, Kristen and Lauren and her 12 great grandchildren: Annabelle, Eleanor, Elliott, Robert C., Braydon A., Anderson J., Avonlea, Trentin G., Paisley A., Ellie H., Nolan M. and Bennett G.

Florence was predeceased by her son, Raymond Roderick Henning.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. John Baptist Church, 420 Holland Street, Shillington. There will be no viewing. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
