Florence Mae Gottfried

Florence Mae "Toot" Gottfried, 80, was pronounced dead of natural causes July 1st at 4:30 p.m. in her residence at 4319 Pottsville Pike, Muhlenberg Township.

She was the widow of Albert who died February 27, 1994.

Born September 14, 1921 in Stony Creek Mills she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Jenny (Redinger) Manwiller.

Gottfried was employed for a number of years at Diener Knitting Mills, Leesport and last worked for Narrow Fabrics until her retirement.

She was a member of Rosedale United Church of Christ, Laureldale.

She was a member of the Temple Fire Companies Ladies auxiliary.

Gottfried is survived by a son; Albert K. "Skip" Gottfried V.M.D. of Lebanon, Pa.

She is also survived by five brothers and two sisters; George L. husband of Edna Manwiller, Exeter Twp., Harold L. husband of June Manwiller of Exeter Twp., Stanley E. husband of Regina Manwiller of Alsace Twp., Warren N. husband of Nancy Manwiller of Dover, Tenn., Clarence A. husband of Dorothy Manwiller of Pikeville, Dorothy M. (Manwiller) wife of George D. Fick of Temple, and Marian N. (Manwiller) wife of Roy Straub of Akron, Lancaster County.

Other survivors include three grandchildren; Melanie (Gottfried) Boehmer, Erik and Dana Gottfried.

She is also survived by eight great grandchildren; Chelsea and Gabriel Boehmer, Kari, Laurie, Mary, Sarah, Karl and Josiah Gottfried.

Services will be Friday July 5th at 10:00 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Viewing from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial in Fairview Cemetery at Bellemans Church, Center Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Rosedale United Church of Christ 1301 Bellevue Avenue Laureldale, Pa 19605.
