Florence Bigg

Florence Bigg, 93, of Hamburg, passed away on Thursday morning in her residence. Born in Tilden Township, on September 25, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Katie M. (Long) and Joseph D. Bauer. Florence was a lifetime member of St. Michael's Church, where she was very active with the church suppers and preparing the church newsletter for 50 years. She was a member of The Women of St. Michael's. She worked at Burkey Underwear as a machine operator for 20 years. Florence enjoyed church and attending her granddaughter, Emma's piano and cello performances. In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick E. Bigg, on November 21, 2005 and to whom she was married for 49 years; brothers: John Hollenbach, Joseph and Paul Bauer. Florence is survived by son, Dwight F. Bigg, husband of Susan, of Blandon; granddaughter, Emma Bigg; and sister, Esther Hartman, of Tilden Township. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 15th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Church, Tilden Township, with Rev. Paul Buzzard officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in the church. Interment will follow in St. Michael 's Cemetery.
