Flora B. Hoffer

Flora B. Hoffer, 82, died Sept. 4 at 11:11 a.m. in her West Reading residence. She was the wife of the late Dr. John F. Hoffer, who died Feb. 17, 1974.

She was born May 11, 1924, in Scranton, Texas.

She was a daughter of the late Ralph and Lenora (Harris) Bradshaw.

Hoffer had been employed for 26 years as an office manager by the state Department of Health and Environmental Resources, retiring in 1986.

She graduated from Cisco Junior College, Cisco, Texas.

Surviving are a son, John F. Hoffer Jr., husband of Maria Hoffer, Reinholds; and a daughter, Mary L. (Hoffer) Firth, Castle Rock, Colo.

Other survivors include a sister, Eunice (Bradshaw) Garverick, Los Cruces, New Mexico.

There is also a grandson, Ryan Firth, Washington, D.C.

Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, with the Rev. Glenn Miller officiating. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery.
