Fiore Sarno

Fiore Sarno, 89, formerly of Reading, PA and Austintown, OH, passed away on June 11, 2026, at Wellington Regional Hospital in West Palm Beach.

Born in the small town of Bagnoli Irpino, Italy, he was the son of the late Aniello and Graziella Sarno (née Frasca). After completing his required service in the Italian Army, Fiore began a journey that would span continents and generations. He first moved to Caracas, Venezuela, before eventually settling in Reading, Pennsylvania, where he built a life with his beloved wife, Darlene Sarno (née Parzanese), and their three children.

A skilled welder by trade, Fiore worked diligently throughout his career before retiring. He carried with him the strong work ethic and values instilled during his upbringing in Italy. Fiore found his greatest joy in his family. His life revolved around his children and, later, his grandchildren, whose accomplishments and happiness brought him immense pride. He also enjoyed fishing and treasured his many trips back to Italy, where he reunited with extended family.

Fiore is survived by his children: Graziella and her husband, Robert Smuller, of Sinking Spring; Aniello Sarno and his wife, Mona, of West Palm Beach, Florida; and John Sarno and his wife, Veronica, of Fairfield, Connecticut. He also is survived by his cherished grandchildren: Adriana, Michael, Matteo, Marco, and Giuliana.

He is further survived by his siblings: Concetta Fossi; Antoinette Nigro and her husband, Antonio; Graziella Noto; Dominic Sarno; Salvatore Sarno and his wife, Gina; and Lorenzo Sarno and his wife, Irene; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Fiore was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Sarno; his sister, Filomena Patrone; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law who welcomed him as family throughout his life.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 237 Franklin Street, Reading, PA 19602. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing that morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading.
