Filomena C. Smith

Filomena C. (Piergrossi) Smith, 91, of 849 Delta Ave., Reading, Pa 19605, died June 25th at 5:25 am in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center where she had been since June 22nd.

She was the widow of Edwin H. Smith.

Born in Faro San Martino, Italy she was a daughter of the late Frank and Lucy (DeFelice) Piergrossi.

She was a member of Grace Alsace United Church of Christ, Hyde Park.

Smith worked as an examiner and folder at Talbott's Knitting Mills for 16 years before retiring in 1972.

She is also survived by a son, Richard A. Smith of Northmont and a daughter, Shirley A. (Smith) Schaeffer of Vunnellon, Florida.

Other survivors include a sister, Carmiella (Piergrossi) Laguidara of Hyde Park and one brother, Fileno Piergrossi of Hyde Park.

There are two granddaughters and four great grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday 10:00 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Rev. Aristides Fokas officiating. Viewing 9am until time of services. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
