Fileno J. "Phil" Piergrossi, 83, died Nov. 18 at 9:05 p.m. in his Hyde Park residence.
His wife, Mary E. (Seghetti) Piergrossi, died Sept. 2.
Born in Birdsboro, he was a son of the late Frank and Lucy (DeFelice) Piergrossi.
Piergrossi had been employed for 19 years as a watchman by Carpenter Technology Corp., retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.
Piergrossi was an Army veteran of World War II, receiving the Bronze Star, and was a prison-of-war in Germany.
He was past commander of Hunter-Liggett Post 38, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Reading.
Piergrossi was a life member of Haag Post 378, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Reading; the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 10, Temple; the American Ex-POWs; and the 80th division of the US Army Veterans Association.
He was also a life member of the Goodwill Fire Company Beneficial Association and the Northmont Club and Beneficial Association.
Piergrossi is survived by a daughter, Elisa M. (Piergrossi) Rusnock, Slatington, Lehigh County, and a son, Michael N., Woodbine, Md.
Other survivors include a sister, Carmella (Piergrossi) Laguidara, Reading, and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Guardians Angels Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale, is in charge of arrangements.
