Fern Shollenberger

Fern M. Shollenberger, 92, of Hamburg, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in the care of Reading Hospital. She was the widow of Clyde S. Shollenberger, who passed away on April 13, 1997.

She was born in Reading to the late Morris and Esther (Delong) Budden. Fern worked as a housekeeper at the Hamburg Center for over 25 years until her retirement.

She and Clyde spent many happy years together, and she took pride in maintaining their home. She enjoyed music, especially Country music, and could often be found singing. Fern treasured time spent with her beloved family.

She also looked forward to her and Clyde's trips to Nashville to visit with dear friends.

Left to treasure Fern's memory are her daughters, Cheryl Zito of Tilden Township and Renee Shollenberger, with whom she resided; her grandchildren: Dana, wife of Stephen Brown, of Hamburg; Preston Zito of Leesport; and Stefan, husband of Jessica Zito, of Mt. Penn; and her great-grandchildren, Thomas and Olivia Teles and Aurelia Zito.

In addition to her husband and her parents, Fern was predeceased by her sisters, Catherine Eyer and Hazel Budden, and her brother, Clarence Budden.

Funeral services for Fern will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, 40 S 4th St, Hamburg PA 19526, with committal to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery.
