Fern Mae Loehrig

Fern Mae (Horst) Loehrig, 79, of Schuylkill Hill Road, Centre Township, died March 24th at 11:59 pm in ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township where she had been for one day.

Formerly of 322 Snyder Road, Ontelanuee Township, she was the widow of John R., who died July 30, 1988.

Born in Laureldale, she was a daughter of the late Harry Herbert and Ruth Ella (Shieler) Horst.

Loehrig was a 1942 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

She worked as a bench handler for 22 years at AT & T, before retiring in 1984 and was also a trip handler for the AT & T Pioneer Retirees for a number of years, planning over 60 trips.

Loehrig was a member of Rosedale United Church of Christ, Laureldale.

She is survived by a nephew, Richard V. Horst of Centre Township and two nieces, Robin (Horst) Oberholtzer of Shillington and Linda Lee (Horst) Liptak of Virginia.

Services will be Saturday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Rev. Richard Leiby officiating. Viewing 9am until time of service. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. Contributions may be made to Rosedale U.C.C. Memorial Fund 1301 Bellevue Ave., Laureldale, Pa 19605.
