Fern June Smith

Fern June (Kulp) Smith, 93, formerly of Laureldale, died March 29, 2014 in Spruce Manor, West Reading.

She was the wife of John Joseph Smith who died December 12, 1983.

Born September 20, 1920 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late John and Ethel I. (Griffith) Kulp.

Fern was a 1938 graduate of Reading High School.

She was employed as a clerk with Oscar Stump Grocery, Mt. Penn for 9 years. Following that, she was employed with Reading Fairgrounds Market for 12 years, retiring in 1982.

Surviving are her three sons: Michael J. Smith of Dallas, TX; Thomas C. Smith of Shillington and Mark A. Smith of Temple.

There are also four grandchildren and three great grandchildren surviving.
