Fern B. High

Fern B. High, 97, passed away, Saturday, March 10, 2018, in The Highlands at Wyomissing.

She was the wife of Eugene W. High, who died November 17, 2010.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Mamie (Bloch) Moodhart.

Fern was a 1938 graduate of Reading High School where she was an accomplished tennis player.

She worked as a secretary and real estate agent in Cleveland Ohio.

Fern was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing. She participated in church groups and was a Deacon at Faith Presbyterian Church in Denver, Colorado.

She loved to travel and had a pioneering interest in nutrition and organic health foods.

Fern is survived by her two children: Ronald E., husband of Maureen (Kemper) High, Topanga, California, and Carol Jean Price, wife of Terrance Price, O'Fallon, Missouri. One sister, June Beck, Reading, also survives her.

Fern was predeceased by two brothers; Robert B. Moodhart and Leonard I. Moodhart, and two sisters; Madelyn Barbon, and Eleanor C. Greth.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 10 a.m., at Atonement Lutheran Church, 5 Wyomissing Blvd, Wyomissing, PA 19610. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. A visitation will be held one half hour prior to the service in the church from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Atonement Lutheran Church at the above address.
