Fern I. Diguardi

Fern Irene DiGuardi, 89, died August 19, 2008 in her Laureldale residence.

She was married to the late Ralph DiGuardi, who died October 12, 1985.

Born February 11, 1919 in Laureldale, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Emma (Hall) Weisser.

Fern was employed by Camps Hosiery, Reading as a knitter and Burn's Department store as a clerk, retiring in 1995.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

Fern was a member of the Central Fire Company Auxiliary. She was also an avid Phillies and Steelers fan.

Surviving are a son, Ralph J., husband of Audrey L. (Furillo) DiGuardi, of Kenhorst; a daughter Linda (DiGuardi) Traylor of Laureldale and a daughter-in-law, Shelly E. (Lessig) DiGuardi of Phoenix, AZ.

In addition there are six grandchildren, Chris, Tina, Larry, Debbie, Daren and Jackie.

There are also seventeen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews surviving.

Fern was predeceased by a son, Richard DiGuardi in 2001, a brother Joseph Weisser and a sister Thelma (Weisser) Jackson.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township, with Rev. Grant A. Wickert officiating. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
