Fannie A. "Shirley" Hess, 75, of Wyomissing, died April 26, 2012 in Hershey Medical Center.

She was the wife of William H. Hess, whom she had been married to for over 52 years.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Sadie (Ninfo) Concordia.

She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School.

Shirley was a lifetime member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading, where she had taught CCD and was a member of the Rosary Society.

She was employed by Pennsylvania Optical Co. for 43 years retiring in 2002.

Shirley dedicated her life to helping and caring for others. She always welcomed everyone into her home with great warmth and kindness.

Her greatest love was her family, tirelessly worrying about and caring for all of them.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Donna M. Hess, Exeter Twp. and William, husband of Robin (Wenrich) Hess, Lower Alsace Twp.; two brothers, Dominic L. Concordia, Spring Twp. and Salvatore R., husband of Ann Concordia, Lower Alsace Twp. and her three much loved grandchildren, Mia and twins William and Celia Hess. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

She was predeceased by her sister Fay Concordia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Contributions may be made to: Berks Catholic, 955 E.
