Evelyn J. Ziats

Evelyn J. (Galanos) Ziats, 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 28, 2020, in her Reading home. Born in York, PA, she was a daughter of the late Constantine and Irene (Green) Galanos, and the widow of John A. Ziats, who passed in 1991.

Family was everything to Evelyn, and she was a wonderful and caring matriarch to all in her family. She leaves behind six children, 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. And, while raising this tremendous legacy, she also worked for many years at Luden's in Reading.

Evelyn is survived by her children: John R. Ziats; Linda Ziats, Rosemarie Purcell (Arthur), Dorothy Roeder, Susan A. Ziats (Albert) and Stephanie Guti (Jerry); her siblings: Gus Galanos (Barbara); Fay Shupp and Antonia Roeder, and the many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her son Michael Ziats, her brother Fred Galanos, and her sisters, Mary Lou Galanos and Kitta Akka Parzanese.
