Evelyn Olivencia, 57, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021, in the care of Spruce Manor, West Reading. Born in Villalba, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Ramon Olivencia and Andrea Alvarado Laboy.
Evelyn was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church.
Evelyn devoted her life to raising her five children, and later to doting on her ten grandchildren. She was a poet and her beautiful handwriting elevated each one into a piece of artwork. Evelyn also loved to sew and crafted for as long as she could. She was a vivacious and funny woman who was loved by many and always liked to have her way. She also had an appreciation for coffee and would not converse until she had it.
Left to treasure Evelyn's memory are her children: Evelyn Cedeno of Scranton, PA; Laury M. Cedeno of Reading, PA; Illiana L. Cedeno (fiancé Ramon Sanchez Jr.) of Scranton, PA; Luis A. Cedeno Jr. of Conway , SC; and Angel A. Cedeno of Reading, PA; her grandchildren: Juan A. Diaz; Adriana J. Diaz; Isabella M. Ortiz; Michael A. Ortiz; Violet R. Ortiz; Ramon Sanchez III; Laylannie M. Sanchez; Alana L. Sanchez; Leanna M. Sanchez; and Marilynn M. Cedeno; and her siblings: Lourdes Martinez; Ruben Martinez; Israel Martinez; Andrea Martinez; Maria Martinez; Angel Martinez; Ramon Olivencia; Digna Martinez; and Maribel Urbina; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 322 S 5th St. Reading, PA 19602. Burial will follow at Charles Evans Cemetery,1119 Centre Ave, Reading, PA 19601. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. 739 Penn Avenue West Reading, PA 19611 and again Thursday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church
