Evelyn L. Weckel

Evelyn L. Weckel, 86, formerly of Reading, died August 10, 2008 in Berks Heim, where she had been since March 3.

Her husband, Charles J. Weckel died October 3, 2003.

Born in Clinton, MA, she was a daughter of the late Waldo and Grace (Goodnow) Smith.

She was a graduate of Lancaster High School, Lancaster, MA in 1940 and earned her Associates Degree from Becker's College, Worchester, MA.

Evelyn was the secretary and office manager for Erb Realty of Trenton, NJ for 27 years, retiring in 1995.

She is survived by two sons, Leonard J. Weckel, husband of Bryn, Blandon, and Gregory P. Weckel, husband of Elizabeth, Leesport.

Evelyn is also survived by a brother Waldo Smith, Jr. of Massachusetts. There are also four grandsons; Gregory Jr., Donald, Leonard Jr. and Michael; and eight great grandchildren.

A service will be held at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading, Friday at 10:30. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the service. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap Friday at 12:30 p.m.
