Evelyn E. Genova

Evelyn "Evie" Genova, 89, of Reading, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, in the care of Spruce Manor. She was the loving wife of 67 years to Joseph Genova.

Born in Reading to the late William Folk, Sr., and Margaret (Bowman) Folk, Evie was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Parish. She worked as a transporter for Community General Hospital for many years and at Reading Hospital until her retirement.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She enjoyed reading, completing crossword puzzles, and shopping with her daughter. She and Joe enjoyed vacations in Atlantic City.

In addition to her husband, Joe, Evie is survived by her children, Joseph Genova (significant other of Tara Wood) of Reinholds and Beth Genova of Reading; their grandchildren, Alexander Genova and Giovanni Genova; as well as nieces, nephews, and their families. She was predeceased by her siblings, William Folk Jr., Leroy Folk, and Myrtle Pfleger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 237 Franklin St, Reading, PA 19602, with committal to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive guests Wednesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the start of Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Evie's memory may be offered to her church at the address above.
