Evan D. Rhoads

Evan D. Rhoads, 91, of Wernersville, formerly of Pennside, passed away on May 3rd at the Phoebe Berks Health Center, Wernersville.

His wife Grace M. (Smith) Rhoads passed away on December 5, 1998.

Born in Stony Creek Mills, he was the son of the late Robert R. and Olivia S. (Schaeffer) Rhoads.

He was a graduate of Reading High School and Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute.

Evan worked as a tool maker for Textile Machine Works, later known as Rockwell, for 49 years until his retirement in 1980.

He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wernersville.

Evan is survived by two sons, Randall E. husband of Janet D. Rhoads, Denver, Pa, and Robert I. husband of Carol E. Rhoads, West Lawn, and one daughter, Rosemary A. (Rhoads) wife of William G. Buchanan, Shillington.

There are also five grandchildren, Timothy R. Rhoads, Megan J. Buchanan, Molly R. Buchanan, Daniel P. Adam, and Jessica B. Buckwalter.

There will be a funeral service on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the service at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 130 S. Walnut Street, Wernersville, Pa 19565. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., is in charge of the arrangements.
