Eugene O. Sheehan, Jr.

Eugene O. Sheehan, Jr., 89, passed away May 13, 2014, in his Reinholds residence.

His wife, Jean H. (Berger) Sheehan, died March 7, 2007.

Born in Denver, PA, he was a son of the late Eugene O., Sr., and Naomi M. (Haines) Sheehan.

He was a 1942 graduate of Reading High School.

Eugene was an electrician; working for the Reading Railroad for 17 years and later for Carpenter Technology Corp. for over 26 years, retiring in 1985 as the assistant superintendent.

He was the past president of both the Electrical Association of Berks County and the Industrial Management Club of Reading and Berks County.

Eugene was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle, R.C.C., Shillington.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in WWII.

Eugene is survived by eight children: Eugene Sheehan of Anchorage, AK; Judith Fisher of Reading; Mary Shuman of Reading; Kevin Sheehan and Thomas Sheehan both of Colorado Springs, CO; Barbara Troutman of Reading; Theresa Tyrrell of Summerville, SC and Sharon Rogers of Clayton, NM. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive him.

He was predeceased by his son, Michael T. Sheehan on July 14, 2010, and two sisters, Lucille Strause and Marie Sheehan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. John Baptist de la Salle, Kerrick Road and Mitti Road, Shillington, PA 19607. A viewing will be held Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
