Eugene N. Schmehl

Eugene N. Schmehl, 75, Kenhorst, died July 15 at 10:25 a.m. in ManorCare Health Services Inc., West Reading, where he had been a patient since June 29.

He was the husband of Jennie T. (DiFederico) Schmehl.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Howard J. and Alice E. (Arnold) Schmehl.

Schmehl had been last employed for 10 years as an area sales merchandiser by Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co., based in Kentucky, retiring in July 2003.

He was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Schmehl was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He is also survived by a son, Ronald E., Shillington.

Other survivors include a brother, William R., Reading.

There are also two grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Church. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m Sunday. Contributions may be made to St. Peter's Church at 322 South 5th Street Reading, PA 19602. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
