Eugene J. Nestro

Eugene J. "Ooie" Nestro, 62, of Spruce Street, West Reading, died of natural causes July 7 at 4:41 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient one day.

He was the husband of Sheilah M. (Scholl) Nestro.

Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Eugene J. and Ann (Razzano) Nestro.

Nestro was employed as a supervisor by Verizon, retiring May 30.

He was the owner of Merlin's Magic Shop, West Reading, from 1976 to 1981.

Nestro was a 1957 graduate of West Reading High School. He attended Kutztown State College.

He was an Army veteran.

Nestro is also survived by a son, Eugene J. III, Sinking Spring; and a daughter, Gina M. (Nestro) Zabinski, Blue Bell, Montgomery County.

Other survivors include a brother, John M., and a sister, Lucille (Nestro) Tirdell, both of West Reading.

There are also six grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Friends may call Thursday 11:30 a.m. until time of service. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, Pa 19605.
