Eugene M. Moyer

Eugene M. "Herky" Moyer, 78, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025 at the Reading Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Jacobs) Moyer . They shared 54 years of marriage before her passing on February 28, 2024.

Born in Shenandoah, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Shistel) Moyer. He graduated from Schuylkill Valley High School. Eugene worked various jobs as a mechanic, as well as at Dana Corp, and eventually built a career at Albright College as a Landscaper.

Eugene was a member of many social clubs and organizations, including West Reading and Kenhorst Fire Companies. He enjoyed being outdoors, and in his younger years, going camping. He enjoyed cars, watching NASCAR, and listening to country music. Eugene was also a Dallas Cowboys fan, and enjoyed watching the game whenever possible. Eugene also enjoyed making minor woodworking and building projects in his basement in Lake Wyona, a passion he continued in his current home. He will be remembered for his caring personality and his sense of humor.

Those cherishing Eugene's memory include his son, James Moyer; his grandchildren, Christina and Thomas Heiser; as well as his brother Ronald, husband of Patricia, and sister in law, Jane Jacobs. He joins in Heaven, his daughter, Cynthia Heiser; as well as his siblings: Donald, Earlene, Catherine, and Sharon; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Eugene's life will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611. A Time of Sharing will begin at 6 p.m.
