Eugene C. Maturi

Eugene C. "Gene" Maturi, Sr., 73, of Birdsboro, entered into eternal rest on September 21, 2024.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Christopher J. and Bernice J. (Rotkiske) Maturi. Gene was a 1969 graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School. Shortly after graduation he entered the military, and he was a proud Army veteran. Gene was employed for many years as a welder and a CDL truck driver for Reading Body Works. He was also employed in customer service at NAPA Auto Parts.

Gene enjoyed working on his cars. He liked to tinker and there wasn't much he couldn't fix. He enjoyed gardening, watching movies, and listening to classic rock and the oldies.

Gene loved his family and is survived by his sisters: Elaine Price of Millsboro, DE, Mary Ann Frank (Richard) of Milton, DE, and Christine Bendigo (Paul) of Reading; brother, Victor Maturi of Temple; many nieces and nephews; his son, Eugene "Gino" C Maturi, Jr., FL; grandchildren, Derrek Rhoads (Brittany) and Lauralyn Rhoads; and great granddaughter, Raegan. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Marie, and a brother, Christopher Maturi, Jr.

Services for Gene will be private. He will be laid to rest at Gethsemane Cemetery.
