Ethel Marie "Sue" (Wurster) Manderbach, 93, of Wyomissing, passed away January 9, 2016, at the Reading Hospital.
She was the wife of George M. Manderbach. Her first husband, John Craig Clemmens died in 1973.
Born in St. Clair, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel (O'Brien) Wurster.
She was a graduate of St. Peter's High School and McCann's School of Business.
Sue worked for Reading Traction Company. She also was employed as a travel consultant for Ruttenberg Travel Company, specializing in cruise travel.
She was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.
Sue had been an active member of the Jr. Catholic and Lincoln Park Women's Clubs and their volunteer activities.
In her career as a travel consultant she and her husband traveled extensively. Sue was proud of her Irish heritage and told her family that she would dance the jig in heaven.
She was an accomplished and excellent bridge player; playing up until she was over 90.
Sue's beauty, warmth and optimism were both a pleasure and an inspiration to her original and extended families and many friends.
In honor of Sue's personality, guests are encouraged to dress in bright colors.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children: Susan Clemmens Kern, Shepherdstown, WV and Michael Craig Clemmens, Pittsburgh; three step-children: Gary Manderbach, Spring Township; Cricket Manderbach, Mohnton and Sherra Howard, Liberty Center, OH and their spouses. Four grandchildren: Gabrielle Kern; Matthew Kern; Lindsey Tervo-Clemmens and Brenden Tervo-Clemmens and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive her.
She was predeceased by four siblings: Harold Wurster; Neil Wurster; John Wurster and Florence Lawlor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. John Baptist de la Salle R.C. Church, 420 Holland St, Shillington, PA 19607. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Greater Berks Food Bank, 117 Morgan Dr., Reading, PA 19608. Edward J.
