Esther S. Deppen

Esther S. Deppen, 76, Reading, died April 9 at 2:30 a.m. in Mifflin Center, Cumru Township, where she had resided since March 13.

Her husband, Donald A. Deppen, died Jan. 14, 1998.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Grudza) Woytko.

Deppen was employed for 47 years as a seamstress by H. Oritsky Inc., Reading, retiring in 1994.

She was a 1947 graduate of Reading Catholic High School.

Surviving are three sisters: Kathryn (Woytko) Zezenski, Reiffton; Sophie (Woytko) Falkiewicz, Shillington; and Rose (Woytko) Seelig, Wyomissing Hills.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Cancer Association, 101 Good Drive Lancaster, Pa 17601. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
