Esther V. Ritter

Esther V. Ritter, 103 formerly of Hamburg died in the Laurel Center, Tilden Township where she had resided the past eight years. She was born on March 27, 1909 and was the daughter of the late William J. and Eva A. (Long) Ritter. "Essie" worked at various knitting mills throughout the Hamburg area for several years. She last worked at the Hamburg Center in food services for nine years retiring in 1977. She was a long time member of the First United Church of Christ, Hamburg. Esther was a past Noble Grand of Rebekah Lodge, #571. She is survived by a niece, Phyllis widow of George Hartman, Hamburg, one great niece, Lori B. McNeil, a great nephew, Thomas M. Hartman, five great, great nieces, 3 great, great nephews, and two great, great, great nieces, and 3 great, great, great nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM. From the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, 40 S. 4th Street, Hamburg, Pa. 19526. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Township.
