Esther M. Moyer

Esther M. Moyer, 89, formerly of Windsor Township, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, in the care of Double Creek Assisted Living and Memory Care in Round Rock, Texas. She was the widow of Paul S. Moyer, who passed away on May 3, 2021.

Born in Windsor Township to the late Samuel J. and Elsie M. (Wink) Kaley, Esther worked for several area knitting mills as a machine operator. After her retirement, Esther enjoyed substituting in the school cafeterias. She enjoyed camping with trips to Nova Scotia, Texas, Michigan, much of New England and the mid-Atlantic states. Many Memorial Day and Labor Day holidays were spent camping with family locally.

She was a member of St. Paul's (Smoke) Lutheran Church.

Left to treasure Esther's memory is her daughter, Debra, wife of Joe Michael Matlock, Round Rock, TX; grandchildren, Aimee B. Litschi, Jennifer Koch, and Christopher Matlock; and seven great grandchildren: Savannah and Aidan Litschi; Calvin and Kaley Koch; and Lucy, Sage and Ella Matlock. She is also survived by her brothers, Charles, Paul, and Leroy Kaley. In addition to her husband, Paul, and parents, Esther was predeceased by her son, Timothy D. Moyer, who is survived by his wife, Beverly Moyer, and two infant sons, Donald and Brian. Esther was also predeceased by her siblings, George Kaley, Eva Kaley, Kathryn Hermansader, and Arlene Dietrich.

Funeral Services for Esther will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's (Smoke) Lutheran Church, 2613 Old U.S. 22, Hamburg, PA 19526, with committal to follow in St. Paul's (Smoke) Cemetery. The viewing will be held Friday, October 4, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, 40 S 4th St, Hamburg PA 19526, and again Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the start of services.
