Esther S. Honn

Esther S. (Hoffman) Honn, 85, died December 29, 2011 in her Spring Township residence.

She was the widow of Charles R. Honn who died January 16, 1994.

Born in Robesonia, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Esta S. (Meck) Hoffman.

She was a graduate of Robesonia High School.

Esther was employed as the paymaster for Boscov's Department stores for over 30 years.

She played co-ed volleyball in the Reading League until well into her 60's and was voted MVP of the league in 1976.

Above all else, Esther loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are two daughters: Rosemary Honn of Lehighton, Carbon County and Esther A. (Honn), wife of Tryon T. Reinert of Tilden Township.

Other survivors include four grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Ney) Hoffman and Ruth (Gerhart) Hoffman.

Esther was predeceased by four brothers, Robert J.S., Norman J., Paul C. and Leon W.

Services will be Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
