Esther Katherine Gabriel

Esther Katherine (Masciotti) Gabriel, 97, formerly of West Reading, died March 6, 2014, in Berks Heim.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Louis Masciotti on October 9, 1975 and her second husband, J. Bruce Gabriel on April 14, 2000.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Irvine and Emma (Wallace) Zieber.

She was employed as a supervisor for 46 years for Narrow Fabric, West Reading, retiring in 1979.

Esther was a member of St. James United Church of Christ, West Reading.

Esther is survived by her niece, Bonita Holzer, Spring Township, with whom she once resided; her step-son, Theodore H., husband of JoAnn Gabriel, her sister, Ethel J. Jefferson, all of West Reading; two step- grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and her good friend Claudia Griffith.

She was predeceased by her brother, Edward and five sisters, Ruth E. Rapp, Ina L. Miller, Blanche L. Zieber, Elsie Zieber and Betty M. Keller.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
