Ernest C. Hoffman

Ernest C. Hoffman, 88 of Shoemakersville, died on November 25th in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Manbeck ) Hoffman., and of the late Mary V. (Christ) Hoffman. Born in Shoemakersville, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Sadie (Adams) Hoffman. Ernest was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Perry Township. He was a graduate of Hamburg High School, and a member of the Virginville Grange. Mr. Hoffman was a self employed farmer for his entire life in the Hamburg area. He was pre deceased in death by one sister, Emma Zettelmoyer. Surviving in addition to his wife Shirley are two daughters, Lois wife of Jack McAllister, Whitehall, PA., Jean Mary Smith wife of David of Windsor Twp.; one son, Neil E. husband of Doris Hoffman of Perry Twp.; also surviving are 7 Grandchildren; 8 Step Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren and many Step Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am in Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 354 Zion's Church Road, Shoemakersville, PA. 19555 Rev. Vicki L. Reeser, Officiating. Relatives and friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in Zions Cemetery, Perry Twp.
