Ernest Elam Gauby

Ernest Elam Gauby, 85 died June 22, 2014 in his Ruscombmanor Township residence.

He was the husband of Elizabeth E. (Stempkowski) Gauby, who died in 1991.

Born in Alsace Township, PA on December 18, 1928, he was a son of the late Charles Elam Gauby and Pearl C. (Moyer) Gauby.

Ernest was a 1946 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

He owned his own business for 33 years, "Ernest E. Gauby Plumbing, Heating and Electrical", before retiring in 1994.

Ernest was a member of Ark Bible Chapel, Woodchoppertown.

He was also a member of Reading Suburban Plumbing Association; Pike Township Sportsman Association; Goodwill Fire Company, Hyde Park and the Blandon Lions Club.

Ernest is survived by a daughter, Joan (Gauby), wife of David M. Miller of Wellsboro, Tioga County.

Other survivors include a brother, Gerald, husband of Ruth Gauby of Ruscombmanor Township; eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Chris Gauby, who passed away in 2000.

Services will be held Thursday, June 26th at 11:00 am in Zion (Spies) Evangelical Reformed Church, 318 Spies Church Road, Reading, PA 19606.

A viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the Church. Burial will be in Spies Cemetery.
