Erna B. (Brendlinger) Horst, 89, of 125 Pennsylvania Avenue, Shillington, died June 14th at 6:10 pm in the Mifflin Center, Cumru Township, where she had been since March 17th.
She was the widow of George D. Horst, who died December 17, 1984.
Born in New Hanover Township, Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late Maurice Y. and Carrie D. (Kolb) Brendlinger.
She worked for 20 years as a Hosiery Worker for the Colonial Mill Works, Mohnton.
Horst later worked for 24 years as a cashier at the IGA of Shillington, before retiring in 1977.
She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shillington.
Horst is survived by two daughters, Frances I. (Horst) wife of C. Kenneth Walter of Sinking Spring and Gloria-Jean (Horst) Podlasek of Shillington.
She is also survived by three brothers, K. Lloyd Brendlinger of Green Lane, Montgomery County, Ralston Brendlinger of Pottstown and Paul L.E. Brendlinger of Boyertown.
Other survivors include four sisters, Kas (Brendlinger) Heintz of Green Lane, Montgomery County, Glenna L. (Brendlinger) Lahr of Green Lane, Montgomery County, Betty A. (Brendlinger) Diehl of Red Hill, Montgomery County and Edith (Brendlinger) Detwiler of Zionsville, Montgomery County.
There are five grandchildren and two great grandsons.
Services will be private. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
